There are also high percent of African Americans in Urban areas, for an example, Big urban areas like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis. There is a very low percent of African Americans in the Midwest, the West region, and New England. The reason for the high numbers of African Americans in the south is because after slavery ended in the south, not very many black people moved from the south to other parts of the country. the reason for high numbers of African Americans in urban areas is because black people are more vulnerable to not getting a chance to get a better job, and having to settle for the worse job closer to the center of the city. The reason for there being a very low percent of black people in the Midwest is because more people of different ethnic groups moved there when blacks were in slavery. This changes the diversity of our country a lot. It shows that different races and ethnic groups cluster together most of the time and makes our country very conforming.
